Early Registration / Bib pickup/ drop bag drop off at the Advocate Fire Department
2 to 5 pm.
If you want a Drop Bag for 1, 2 or 3 Loops you bring it here and drop it off. This is the only chance for 2 & 3 Loop Drop Bags to arrive before the runners do.
There will be a sit down or take out Spaghetti Dinner (gluten and vegan options) available at the Fire Hall and a desert for $15 from 3 PM to 6 PM. This will be an option on Race Roster as an add on. Only Dinners ordered ahead of time will be available. This is a fundraiser for the community. All money collected for the dinner goes directly to the fundraiser.
It is a great opportunity to sit and chat with your crew and other runners ahead of this ultra fun run.
10:30 PM - later Registration / Bib pick up for 2 & 3 Loopers at the Registration tent set up by the Cape Chignecto Park Office gate.
If you pick your Bib up now, your drop bags will only be delivered to the Big Bald aid station on Saturday morning at 8am.

Drop Bag Info
Drop Bag Requirements
- You can provide us with a disposable Drop Bag, usually large ziplock bag sized. (Drawstring bags are fine). Anything placed in these bags, either you pick up at the Aid Station OR it will be discarded after the race.
- Please DO NOT put breakable items in these IE Mason Jars and DO NOT put items which may leak IE Ice in a Ziplock bag with a Mason Jar
- Write your Name and Aid Station on the Drop Bag.
- 1 Loopers can have One Drop Bag at the Big Bald Aid Station (Middle)
- 2 & 3 Loopers can have Drop Bags at the Bunkhouse (1st) Big Bald (Middle) and Arch Gulch Aid Stations (3rd).
If a 2 or 3 looper wants to use drop bags, they need to drop them off at the Advocate Firehall between 2 and 5 pm on Friday.
All Drop Bags are to be dropped off at the Registration on Friday no later than 5 pm. We are very strict on this rule... we gotta get your aid station volunteers to their cabins.
If you are a 2 or 3 looper and you miss this drop bag time frame (life happens, traffic, flat tires)... you still have one last opportunity to get some drop bags to the Big Bald Aid station before you head out at midnight... but because they don't get driven to that aid station until 7am, they might not be there until your 2nd loop...
All of these drop bags are to be considered disposable once the race is done.
AID STATION INFORMATION
We will have some nutrition at the aid stations for as long as supplies last. Please be sure to not fully rely on the aid stations for your nutrition as some items be more popular than others:
Items to expect at each Aid Station -
● Coke
● Banana bread
● Pumpkin pie
● Scratch
● Pickles
● Cookies
● Soup from time to time
● Grilled cheese from time to time
● Hot chocolate
● Coffee
● Gluten free bread will be available
● Watermelon
● Water
Extraction from Aid Stations for those who wish to drop during the race: first extraction will be between 7am and 9am Saturday morning. The next time might be 12+ hours later.
Two of these Aid Stations are quite a long drive over roads requiring a 4X4 vehicle. Just keep in mind if you drop at an Aid Station, and it’s not a medical emergency, you might be waiting quite awhile to be picked up.
Anybody can get to the 1st Aid Station in Eatonville (Bunkhouse) in approx 20 minutes on the Eatonville Road.
Please NOTE! This race has a lot of moving parts and we work really hard to make everyone's experience special and successful. The week leading up to the race we cannot reliably answer questions as we are into setup mode etc. Sept 25th 2026 is the last day we can answer questions. If you feel you have not found your answer here, please contact us prior to this date.
Frequently Asked Questions
Q - Do you still need Volunteers
A - Yes we do. We need Volunteers to work in shifts at the Start / Finish Please email us @ wentworthvalleytrailrunners@gmail.com for more information.
Q - If I want to sell my Bib to someone else, and use the Transfer option, do you have a waitlist?
A - Approx 3 weeks prior to the race, I'll make a Facebook post on our Wentworth Valley Trail Runners FB Page where folks can comment to sell their Bibs.
Q - I noticed you had a 19 kilometer (approx) and 32 kilometer (approx) distance in previous years. They are gone now, why is that?
A - Those two distances ended up not being popular enough to offer again. They require a lot of planning and extra signage as well as extra information for the two Aid Stations who support them. The amount of work it took to arrange unfortunately did not warrant offering them again.
Q - Are there Bathrooms along the route?
A - There are vaulted toilets along the route in the different camping sites and the cabin Aid Stations
Q- What are some recommended items to bring?
A- Recommended Items - While we don’t have an absolute items list required for the race, here are items we suggest you bring:
Hydration vest or something to carry liquid ... preferably 1 Litre minimum
Water Filter - There are 3 Aid Stations, but there are several rivers you could refill water if you tend to go through a lot.
Headlamp / light - Every year we have folks who are still on course with NO headlamp and it gets dark. The course is not lit. Bring a headlamp, even if you think you'll be fine.
Small First Aid Kit - never a bad idea to have some bandages, duct tape and a thermal blanket.
Charged Cell phone with John’s # in it (902) 664 1069
Snacks
A pacer for your 2nd or 3rd laps might be required. Race officials/aid station workers will be making determinations based on how they feel you are doing... please consider having a friend at the ready. We will work with your pacer to get them to you so you have the best opportunity to finish the race.
Some other things to Note:
Keep an eye on the projected weather to dress appropriately. If you are doing more than 1 loop, consider extra clothing in your vehicle.
Q- Are there aid stations?
A- Aid Stations - There will be 3 aid stations out on the course. They are ( in order) Bunkhouse, Big Bald and Arch Gulch. If you are doing 2 or 3 loops, allthree aid stations will have something hot during the night. You can also use your vehicle as an Aid Station to grab extra food etc. The start/ finish will have a "Runners only tent" with a few choice aid station supplies.
Note about the Bunkhouse Aid Station - This is the ONLY Aid Station which is accessible by vehicles off the Eatonville Road. It’s a dirt road, which can be affected by heavy rains, so an SUV or larger is recommended, i’ll leave that up to you.
Q- Can my family/friends come and see me run?
A- If you have a support person who wants to meet you there to cheer you on, they can. The Bunkhouse can also be used as a spot to pick something up or drop something off if you need (IE Man I forgot my poles! OR Man I HATE these Poles!). Any items exchanged here would be by your support person, we won’t be delivering items back to the start.
The Bunkhouse is approx 16.5k in. It is a narrow road, and also used by locals, so try to be considerate when parking / driving on it. It has sketchy cell service. But driving a short distance away you will get a few bars.
Q - What if I am on the course and want to drop from the Race?
A - If you want to drop from the race (not including a life threatening injury), stop at one of the Aid Stations. There will be volunteers at these who can sit with you and keep you company.
IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT DROPPING AT BIG BALD OR ARCH GULCH CABINS - These require a 4 x 4 truck to get to and take over an hour return trip (Big Bald is almost 90 minutes). We cannot make several trips to each cabin as it takes a lot of time. If you do not have a life threatening injury, you may have to wait at the aid station for several hours before someone goes to get you. If you make it to the Bunkhouse Aid Station and feel you are not doing well, and might not be able to finish the race, consider stopping here as it’s the easiest cabin to retrieve someone from.
Please note: you will be given the distance recorded before you left the course. No one DQ’s at the Chiggy Ultra ever. You get credit for what you ran.
Q- Where do I park for the race?
2 & 3 Loopers will be able to park in a flagged off area in the Main Parking lot for the Park. If there is room for 1 loopers, it will be first come first served in this area, otherwise the Rockhammer runners and 1 loopers can park on Eatonville Rd. There may be a closer option offered for a small fee. We will know more about this closer to the race.
Q- What if I've arrived a bit late, what do I do?
A- Come to the Start / Finish, we’ll get you started. No problem.
Q- When can my pacer start?
A - After the 2 and three lappers have done 1 full lap, their pacer can join them on the second and or third lap. When you arrive to register we will hand you your bib as well as the bibs for your pacer(s). We will need your pacers emergency contact info as well as if they are allergic to anything.
Q- Can my Pacer help me?
A- Yes, your pacer can help you, as a matter of fact, anyone can. If a fellow trail runner or random hiker wants to lend you a headlamp/granola bar/change of shorts… take the help… whatever is going to help you finish… take the help. Piggybacking discouraged... but.......
Q- Can I wear headphones/earbuds?
A- Absolutely. If it will help you to finish your race by listening to: Enya, David Goggins audio book “Can’t Hurt me”, or Rob Zombie, Slipknot or Clint Black… do it!!! If it’s Clint Black, please don’t play the music out loud.
Q- Will you have First Aid Available?
A - Yes we will have a couple of paramedics on site as well as well stocked first aid kits at each aid station.
Q- What if i signed up for 1 lap and want to add one more when i arrive at the finish because I am feeling so good?
A- If you arrive back to the finish and want to add more laps… we would ask you to pay the difference of the two races. We will contact the Aid Stations to let them know you are going back out on course.
Q - What if I signed up for 2 or more laps and want to reduce after a lap or two?
A - This is no problem. You will be credited for the distance you achieve. However if you were signed up for 3 or 2 laps, and do less, your results will be placed on a separate list. So if you signed up for two laps, and crushed one lap and want to stop, you will be placed on a separate 1 Lap finishing list than those who signed up for 1 and finished 1.
Q - If I signed up for three laps how can I make it a full 100miler so that I can say I have run a 100miler?
A - We will have three 1 Kilometer Markers along the road from the park towards Advocate, so you can finish your distance along the road and back.
Notice on the Map there is a Red and Blue Highlighted sections. The race starts at the Gate and moves up the path which is the Red Marked Trail. Go just past KM marker 1 and turn right onto the McGahey Canyon Trail which has Blue Tree Markings and sign posts. The Blue trail goes for 5 kilometers, then turn Right back onto the Red Trail. Proceed counter clockwise around the trail finishing on the Red Trail and back to the gate.
